Hello and Happy National Taco Day!
What better way to celebrate taco day then some delicious tacos and a blog post about them!
This Hello Kitty Foodie celebrated National Taco Day with some crunchy treats from Tom’s Tacos.
Tom’s Tacos is the “Home of the Hardshell Tacos and Fresh Salsa.”
Tom’s Tacos sounds a lot like the famous Tito’s Tacos in Culver City, right? That is no concidence. The very first Tom’s Tacos was once Tito’s Tacos in Orange County. The story of Tom’s Tacos started when a. fan of Tito’s Tacos, bought Tito’s Tacos OC location. Being such a big taco fan, he decided to offer the same menu as Tito’s Tacos and as well as some other yummy treats like tostadas and nachos! Tom’s Tacos offers same great taste as Tito’s Tacos and more!
Although originally located in Anaheim, Tom’s Tacos moved to Torrance, California this 2015. This move was of much delight to this Hello Kitty Foodie. Being a South Bay native, I welcomed this location change. I’ve been wanting to come check out Tom’s Tacos for sometime and finally the time came and just in time for National Taco Day!
My orders consisted of one beef taco with cheese, one chicken taco with cheese and taquitos! From the start, I was impressed. I was presented with a box full of crunchy delights! Their tacos are indeed special! The crispy shell was filled with lots of tender meat, fresh lettuce and tasty shredded cheese. The beef was savory and the chicken was tender. It’s hard for me to say which taco version was my favorite because I was a fan of both. Topping the tacos with the fresh salsa added a nice touch.
The taquitos which came with a side of guacamole was also a nice treat. The taquitos had that nice crisp on the outside and there was a good serving of meat inside. Dipping it in guacamole enhanced the flavor of the taquito even more.
Trying out Tom’s Tacos to celebrate National Taco Day was perfect. The tacos I tried are some of the tastiest I’ve ever tried. I loved how fresh everything was. Their made to order tacos that comes with housemade salsa was truly a winner. I sure was full of smiles for National Taco Day thanks to Tom’s Tacos.

It’s been almost a year since I went to the grand opening celebration of the very first Lee’s Sandwiches to open up in the South Bay in Torrance, California. I had a lot of fun during that event and so when I heard a second South Bay location was opening up, I made sure to be there for more grand opening celebration fun!
A second location means another location to get Lee’s popular fresh hot baguettes!
Their baguettes are used for their famous bahn mi sandwiches! I made sure sure to pick up one of those sandwiches when I stopped by the grand opening event. Since it was breakfast time, I chose to get a Bahn Mi Op La or a Vietnamese fried egg sandwich. Lee’s Sandwich’s version is packed with two sunny side eggs, pork slices, house pickle, onion, jalapeno, cilantro and their house mayonaise. A fried egg always brings a little bit more deliciousness to anything and delicious indeed sandwich was. The crispy baguette was perfect for dipping for the messy, yellow yolk oozing out from the eggs. The house pickle brought plenty of flavor! There was plenty of veggies inside. Eggs and vegetable delight!
A grand opening celebration meant treats for all today! For every bahn mi purchased, folks could choose between getting a free iced coffee or a free baguette! Their fresh baguettes pops out of their ovens every 30 minutes!
Their iced coffee is another Lee’s Sandwiches customer favorite. It’s a blend of Vietnamese style French pressed coffee with condensed milk. It’s perfectly smooth, nicely rich in taste, giving a morning kick to everyone who drinks it.
It’s great to have been part of another grand opening celebration of Lee’s Sandwiches and it’s definitely a great feeling to know that another place for delicious bahn mi and iced coffee is in the neighborhood! That definitely brings a smile to this hello kitty foodie.

The long wait is over! Lee’s Sandwiches is finally open in Torrance and today I attend their grand opening celebration.
The long line for the famous sandwiches started early and just kept going, going and going!
Lee’s was nice to offer some yummy free samples for the visitors today. Deli manjoo cake and iced coffee were given out.
We came here for breakfast and tried out the ham, bacon, egg and cheese croissant. Soft croissant filled with melted cheese and meat, made for a nice morning treat.
We could not walk away without trying one of their famous bahn mi! From the Asian sandwich menu, we got the grilled pork! It comes in their ten inch baguette that is baked fresh. The sandwich was filled with the sweet pork, daikon and carrot, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, house mayo, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Yum!
Since it was the grand opening, we had a choice of getting free coffee or a baguette. We chose to get the free iced coffee. It definitely will be sure to bring energy to your day because it is strong in flavor!
We also got some egg rolls to go to bring to some family. I tried one of these chicken egg rolls and was instantly a fan. It is packed with ingredients and full of flavor!
Welcome to Torrance Lee’s Sandwiches! Hello Kitty Foodie and the South Bay welcomes you and is oh so happy to see you here! 🙂
