Hello Pecan Pie Pringles!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

What snacks and finger foods do you have for your Super Bowl party?
Do you like pie? Do you like chips? How about a combination of both? 😉

While at the grocery store, I recently spotted Pecan Pie Pringles.

At first I was a little surprised but then i remembered seeing similar type of weird chip flavors in the past such as chicken and waffle Lays potato chips and Trader Joe’s chocolate covered potato chips). It looks like chips with a hyrbid of flavors is starting to be a new trend. 😉

The top of the Pringles package said it is “bursting with flavor.” Hmm, this was intriguing!

I am a fan of pecan pie and chips but I was not exactly sure what flavor these chips would have. My curiosity got the best of me however and I went ahead and grabbed some Pecan Pie Pringles. I am a brave girl after all. 😉

When I first opened the package, I honestly was not sure what to expect. The chips themselves look like ordinary Pringles. There’s no glaze, pecans or a pie crust (insert giggles here). It just has the same feel, shape and texture of a Pringle. The difference came when I tasted it. At first bite, I definitely got a taste of pecan pie. There was a hint of sweet maple syrup and a little bit of a nutty like flavor. It’s like pecan pie! Soon after that first bite though, I started to taste the the saltiness of the Pringle. Much to my surprise though, it did not overtake the sweet pecan pie taste. It was actually complimenting it. The salt and sweet flavors blended in to give way to a dessert like chip, almost like a cookie! I actually liked it!

A pie flavored chip….hmm who would’ve thought? I did not know what to expect when I first tried these out but I took the chance and found myself enjoying these Pecan Pie Pringles and will be munching on some of these this Sunday.

May you all have fun today and if you chance on these chips at your local grocery, maybe you too will add it onto you Super Bowl Sunday table. C’mon be brave :).

I tried these too! I thought it was a pretty weird flavor choice for Pringles to go with but I guess you don’t know until you try. I ate one and thought it wasn’t terrible but not really my thing. No one else would even take a single chip and I had to throw the rest away.
